The Long Now Foundation welcomes support and participation at all levels.
Our monthly Seminars About Long-term Thinking are one of the best ways to see the breadth and effect of long term thinking. If you are in the San Francisco area, you are welcome to come for free each month. If you cant make it in person you are welcome to download the talks online. (audio, slides and videos are being added monthly). You can also view or subscribe to our calender of local events.
If you are interested in staying abreast of our Seminars About Long Term Thinking, other San Francisco area events and announcements, please sign up to our local mailing announcement list. We also send a summary after each talk to this list. (We do not share our lists, and we only send out a few notices per month.)
If you would just like to get general announcements from the Foundation you can sign up for the general announce list. (This list usually only receives a couple announcements per year.)
If you would like to come by and see us in person, you are welcome to come by our public display space and retail store open Tues-Sunday 12-5pm in Fort Mason Center, Building A, San Francisco CA. On display are several 10,000 Year Clock prototypes and functional design proofs. We also have displays and interactive kiosks for the Rosetta, Long Bets, and Data Preservation projects.
The items in our retail store are also available on-line in our web shop along with some freely downloadable items.
Another way to participate is to make a donation. The Long Now Foundation is a nonprofit organization that relies completely on private gifts and grants to fund its projects and programs. Every gift is important to us and helps make possible the creation of the 10,000-Year Clock, the formation of a 10,000-Year Library, and the knowledge-sharing work we do.
